I’m always amazed at what people think they can **pass** in the bathroom stall as being appropriate. I have seen a shocking rise in the rate of phone chatting while making use of the facilities. I always have to wonder what the person on the other end of the line is thinking: Rumble, rumble, plop, plop, flush. “Uhm…where are you calling me from?”

Right now, we’re on the “quantity over quality” approach to bribery.

We’ve encountered some inadvertent success in that the toddler has realized, as only a toddler would, that sitting on the toilet can be used to filibuster bedtime for a few precious minutes.

Admittedly, if given a choice between sitting on the can and giving free reign of a bed full of stuffed animals, I’m not sure I’d choose the can, but I’m not two either…

Ah, I recall the days. Our oldest was lured to continence by the promise of one of them bear shaped containers of bubble blowing soap. Bubbie Bear, yep, that did it. The lad is now 27, getting married in a couple of months, and hopefully can start bribin’ up some grandkids for me in a few years….

The vision of Senor Walmart is still in my head. His meds need to be adjusted. Clearly. Is there a sac/sack joke there? And tell that other guy that Degree Body Heat Activated is only $1.98 at a REAL store. Our dollar stores never have cool praying hands!

The bowels of podunk Wisconsin are essentially the equivalent of Guatemala’s intestinal tract, and so the comparison is appropriate. I’m not certain the U.S. Constitution was ever intended to extend protections to the backwoods of rural middle America – at least it does not seem to be actively enforced.
